What does a BBQ cost at Blue Lagoon?

Our BBQ packages range from €24 to €36 per person, depending on which items you choose. What you eventually pay depends on the group size, drinks, and any extras such as a starter or dessert. Request a quote, and you will usually have a price for your complete package within one working day.

From how many people can I book a BBQ?

From 20 people for a private BBQ package. For smaller groups, you can visit the restaurant for grilled dishes from the menu.

Up to how many people can you BBQ?

We have hosted groups of several hundred guests. For very large groups or full venue buyouts, we discuss the date and logistics in advance.

Does it also work in bad weather?

Yes. In good weather, the barbecue will be on the terrace, and in less favourable weather, it will be in the covered conservatory with the same sea view. The package will still go ahead, only the setting will change.

Until what time can we BBQ and stay?

The kitchen is open until 10:30 PM, and the bar until midnight. For groups wishing to stay longer, we can discuss options in advance.

Can I combine the BBQ with a meeting or activity?

Yes, that's a common combination. Meetings during the day followed by a BBQ to finish off, or a beach activity beforehand (paddleboarding, beach challenge, cocktail workshop). Discuss it in your quote.

How far in advance should I book?

For weekend dates during peak season, a minimum of 4 weeks' notice is required. Weekday dates outside of peak season are more flexible. For large groups (75+), 8 weeks' notice is required.

Is exclusive rental possible?

For large events or special requests, we can discuss exclusive use. Please request this explicitly with your quote so we can align the calendar accordingly.

Saturdays between May and September are booked first. Reserve those four to six months in advance.

Faq

Is it officially possible to get married on the beach in the Netherlands?

Yes. A municipality can designate a beach location as a free wedding venue. The ceremony is then fully legally valid and is conducted by a registrar from that municipality. Blue Lagoon is one such designated location in The Hague.

How much does getting married on Scheveningen beach cost?

You will receive two invoices. The municipality will invoice for the ceremony, and we will invoice for the venue and catering.

So, getting married on a weekday already saves over one hundred and forty euros. Our side depends on the company, the menu, and the duration of the evening. We'll draw up a customised quote for that.

How many guests can attend a beach wedding?

From 25 people to over 300 guests. For up to one hundred guests, we use a designated area of the pavilion. For more than that, we combine the terraces and the indoor spaces. Exclusive use of the entire pavilion can be discussed upon request.

How far in advance should we book?

For Saturdays during the peak season, four to six months. The declaration of agreement must be submitted to the municipality no later than twelve weeks before the wedding date. During the week and outside of the peak season, there is more flexibility.

What happens in bad weather?

Then we will move the ceremony indoors, with the same sea view and the same setup. Dinner and party will proceed as planned. We will contact you in advance as soon as the forecast indicates this, so you won't have to switch arrangements on the morning itself.

The best period to get married by the sea is during the late spring or early autumn.

June to August is the most popular, with sunset around half past nine. Autumn is underestimated. Softer light, an empty beach and often better photos, at lower prices.

Until what time can we party?

The bar and dance floor are open until midnight. For couples who wish to stay out later, we can discuss options with partners along the promenade.

Do you take dietary requirements into account?

Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, and halal. Please submit by no later than one week before the wedding day.

Can we organise a themed wedding?

Yes. We have hosted weddings here in traditional white, in full colour, with an Ibiza vibe, and with a Thailand theme. We tailor the decorations, music, and menu to the style you have in mind.

Can we arrange a DJ or a live band?

Either is possible. A DJ for the evening party or a live band during the reception and dinner. We'll help you think about the setup, sound, and timings, and we work with regular partners if you don't have anything sorted yet.

Can we also just have a reception or a lunch?

Yes. Not every wedding lasts until midnight. A reception for the large group or a lunch with the intimate circle can be separate, without an evening programme.

May we bring our own wedding cake or supplier?

That can be arranged in consultation. Please mention it with your quote request, and we will arrange it with the kitchen.

Where can our guests park and sleep?

The Kurhaus car park and Nieuwe Parklaan car park are within walking distance, offering more than 1,500 spaces combined. Hotel Kurhaus, Carlton Beach and NH Atlantic can all be reached on foot.
