That was it again. The weather was good, the atmosphere was great, and after a wonderful year, the beach season is unfortunately over for us again. In recent weeks, we have dismantled our beach pavilion again after a long time.
Why do the beach bars actually have to be dismantled?
Almost all the beach bars in Scheveningen have to be dismantled every winter. For the past 2 years, we were allowed to stay as compensation during the corona times. But this year we had to get back to work. We would all prefer to stay in the winter, but unfortunately that is not allowed. There are a few reasons for this. The most important reasons are damage to nature, but also storm and frost damage to the pavilions.
What happens during dismantling?
Did you play with lego early? So that's what it looks like! Our Beach pavilion consists of several units. These individual units are put together to form our entire Beach Pavilion. During dismantling, these units are disconnected from each other and lifted away separately by a crane. You can see this in the picture above. These units are transported 1 by 1 by several trucks to our warehouse.
All the interior, kitchen utensils, crockery, and the rest of the loose items must be removed from the different units. Different sea containers are used for this. The reason that these are placed in sea containers is actually very simple: firstly, a huge amount can be stored in them, and secondly, they are easy to transport. These are lifted and also transported by truck.
Where does the beach bar go?
The beach pavilions are stored in a large warehouse. Each beach bar has its own outdoor and/or indoor storage. Some are closer than others. Beach pavilion Blue Lagoon is stored in a large warehouse with both outdoor and indoor storage. During the winter period, everything is done again to start the summer well. For example, things are oiled, painted, and of course changed. On to next season!
