That was it again. The weather was good, the atmosphere was nice and after a brilliant year, the beach season is unfortunately over for us again. Last weeks, we took down our beach pavilion again for a long time.
Why do the stand tents actually have to dismantle?
Almost all stand tents in Scheveningen have to be dismantled every winter. For the past 2 years, we were allowed to stand as compensation during corona times. But this year we had to work filn k again. Ideally, we would all like to stay standing in winter but unfortunately we are not allowed to. There are a few reasons for this. The main reasons are damage to nature but also, among other things, storm and frost damage to the pavilions. In addition
What happens during deconstruction?
Did you play with lego early? So that's what it looks like! Our Beach Pavilion consists of several units. These individual units are put together to form our entire Beach Pavilion. During dismantling, these units are disconnected from each other and lifted away separately by a crane. You can see this in the picture above. These units are transported 1 by 1 by several trucks to our warehouse.
All the interior, kitchen utensils, crockery and the rest of the loose items have to be removed from the various units. Several sea containers will be used for this. The reason they are placed in sea containers is very simple: firstly, they can store an enormous amount and, secondly, they are easy to transport. They are hoisted and transported by truck.
Where does the stand tent go?
The stand pavilions are stored in a large shed. Each stand tent has its own outdoor and/or indoor storage area. Some are closer together than others. Beach pavilion Blue Lagoon is stored in a large shed with both outdoor and indoor storage. During the winter period, everything is done to get the summer off to a good start. This includes oiling, painting and of course some changes. On to next season!
