Looking for a bit of peace and quiet after all the hustle and bustle on the beaches of scheveningen? Then dare to visit the beautiful Westduin Park!
Westduin Park is one of The Hague's largest protected nature reserves and is located between Scheveningen harbour and the seaside resort of Kijkduin. Here you can walk and cycle around endlessly in the dunes and woods, enjoy the view of the sea and even admire The Hague's skyline! In short, there is plenty of variety.
Pieces of history can also be found in several places in the dunes through the various bunker remains from World War II.
Of course, a wide variety of animals can also be found in the nature reserve. For bird watchers it is a true paradise, but the big (literally and figuratively) stars are the Scottish highlanders that roam freely here. You can encounter them everywhere but can usually be found near the wrinkle roses along the cycling and walking paths.
Take care! It is recommended to keep at least 25 metres away from the animals, especially if there are young calves with the herd.
