Ben je op zoek naar een beetje rust na alle drukte op de stranden van Scheveningen? Waag dan eens een bezoekje aan het mooie Westduinpark!
The Westduinpark is one of the largest protected nature reserves in The Hague and is located between the port of Scheveningen and the seaside resort of Kijkduin. Here you can walk and cycle endlessly in the dunes and forests, enjoy the sea view and even admire the skyline of The Hague! In short, there is plenty of variety.
You can also find pieces of history in various places in the dunes, due to the various bunker remains from the Second World War.
There is also a great variety of animals to be found in the nature reserve. It is a true paradise for birdwatchers, but the big (literally and figuratively) stars are the Scottish Highlanders that roam freely here. You can come across them everywhere, but they are usually found near the rugosa roses along the cycling and walking paths.
Please note! It is recommended to keep a distance of at least 25 meters from the animals, especially if there are young calves in the herd.
